How does a custom order work?
In the most stress-free way possible! We collect a down payment from you to signify the commitment to the order; as well as our materials. The order goes through shearing, forming, fabricating, welding, finishing, electrical, powdercoat, all the way until it is ready for you. We will keep in touch with you throughout your order, and will reach out to you within 1~2 weeks of completion to arrange final payment as well as schedule shipment or installation.
Please note that unless we have established a previous relationship with your organization, we do require product to be paid in full before shipping and/or having a product leave our possession.
Why aluminum instead of steel?
Some of the most important reasons to us are:
1. It is lighter, which increases payload of equipment/vehicles/etc.
2. Reduces the amount of fuel consumption (therefore reducing emissions) for equipment towing/hauling Aluminum equipment.
3. Reduces the wear/tear on your brakes by stopping lighter load each time.
4. Avoid rust/decaying altogether
5. Aluminum melts (welds) at a lower temperature than steel, therefore it requires less electricity.
6. Prevent CO 2 emissions into our atmosphere; as Aluminum requires Argon or Argon blends to weld.
7. Aluminum can be recycled INFINITELY. Nearly 75% of ALL the Aluminum ever produced on Earth is still in circulation today.
We use 5052-H32 Alloy for our sheets/plates; and 6061-T6 for our extrusions. This is the same alloy used on boats, aircraft, vehicles, military, and architectural applications.

Our manufacturing operation is located in the oceanside town of Parksville, on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia.
We know a significant portion of our customers are not from our immediate region. Don’t worry, we’re prepared for that, and used to it!
It’s completely up to you how you collect your order. We service all of North America, and are ready to arrange shipments to any address anywhere on this continent.

Rival Truck is the truck oriented division of Express Custom Manufacturing. In essence, we are the same thing (and our legal company name is Express Custom Manufacturing 2024 Ltd.). Due to our product spectrum being so wide; Rival Truck serves as our Truck division to streamline the customer experience, and get you the right salespeople/support you need as fast as possible.

Together with the Errington Volunteer Fire Department (EVFD), we played a pivotal role in assisting with qualifying our local municipality for Superior Shuttle Tank Accreditation.
Fabricated the first pick up ETV Unit
Way back in 2005, we collaborated with WorkSafeBC to create the first ever pick up truck insert ETV unit, intended for transporting injured workers.
The first aluminum trailer manufacturer in Western Canada
