Featuring an integrated transverse extension cabinet, the Defender-LB delivers additional enclosed space without sacrificing the clean, balanced profile that defines the Defender line. Built from marine-grade 5052-H32 aluminum and 6061-T6 extrusions, every cabinet is precision-fit and fully finished with locking handles, interior LED rope lighting, and Rival’s signature Sandtex powder-coated hardware. The Long-Box Legend.
The (not so) secret strength behind the Defender-LB lies in its seamless modular expansion. Starting with the proven Defender-SB foundation, the LB integrates a transverse extension cabinet that bolts directly to the existing frame, transforming it into a perfect fit for long-box trucks. The added cabinet features a divider wall inset 56″ from the curb-side door and a shallow 24″ driver-side compartment, preserving balance while increasing enclosed volume. Like the base Defender, the extension includes LED rope lighting, full weather sealing, locking handles, and matching aluminum construction, ensuring consistent durability and visual continuity across the platform.
Every Defender-XL is manufactured to fit domestic ¾-ton and larger long-box pickups (Ford, Chevy, Dodge 2000+), installed on Rival’s steel sub-frame for maximum strength and serviceability. Standard configurations include LED-lit storage cabinets, dual acetylene pillars, dual oxygen mounts, a 20–30lb propane bracket, and a 3000 lb Rival steel equipment slider ready for Lincoln or Miller drives. With four reel mounts, pipestand holders, and a steel workbench tailgate, the Defender-XL delivers full-deck performance in a single integrated package. Powder-coated or bare, it’s built for welders who demand more without compromise.
